HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Gulf Shore Estates, a proposed coastal community of 3D-printed homes, is underway in San Leon near Galveston Bay and Trinity Bay.
n
HiveASMBLD, a Houston-based automated 3D-printed construction company, has partnered with Commander Home Builders to develop the Galveston County community.
n
Gulf Shore Estates will bring 23 3D-printed single-family homes to 4.5 acres of land on Jenni Lane at Broadway Street, across from San Leon Elementary. Home prices will start at $325,000.
n
The homes, ranging from 1,100 to 2,100 SF, will be built using a robotic printer to layer a concrete-like material to form walls and structural components. The homes are designed with eco-friendly materials for durability, energy efficiency, and storm resilience, according to HiveASMBLD.
n
Gulf Shore Estates represents HiveASMBLD’s third project in the Houston area, along with Zuri Gardens near Hobby Airport and the Avenue J duplexes in the East End.
n
“Gulf Shore Estates is another example of HiveASMBLD’s commitment to the future of affordable and attainable residential housing,” said Tim Lankau, Co-CEO of HiveASMBLD. “3D printing technology is dramatically reducing the cost of building homes while significantly accelerating construction timelines. In coastal regions where strict building requirements and windstorm standards are essential, Hive’s 3D-printed homes exclusive structural system offers an ideal solution as it is engineered to withstand winds over 200 mph.”
n
Located east of Highway 146, Gulf Shore Estates is about 20 miles from Galveston and 38 miles to downtown Houston.
n
“San Leon is a strategic, high-upside location for this type of 3D-printed development, with strong coastal lifestyle demand, attainable land pricing, and limited new housing inventory,” said Steve Commander of Commander Home Builders.
